- How can I keep the weeds from overtaking my lawn?
A healthy lawn will be able to keep out weed infestation. Getting on a four times a year fertilization program with 16-4-8 is a start in the right direction to a healthy lawn.
- My citrus trees bloom very little and when they do the blooms never produce fruit.
To promote blooms and fruit growth, citrus need to be fertilized in February, May and October with a good citrus fertilizer.
- The palm trees in my yard are yellow and the fronds are deformed.
Palms need a good palm fertilizer three times a year. You may need to give an extra feeding of manganese to help get rid of the fron deformation.
- The plants in my flower bed do not seem to be doing very well. I have fertilized them once, but that did not seem to help. they were planted over a year ago.
Shrubs need to be put on a monthly fertilization program with a good fertilizer like 8-8-8. This will promote good root growth which will in turn make the plant healthier.
- I have several trees in my yard that have been there for several years. Recently I have noticed a lot of dead limbs and the growth seems to be getting very sparse.
trees need to be fertilized too. For the first few years they probably have been surviving on the fertilizer you have been using on your lawn. But as they get bigger, they need more. With the use of a good monthly 10-10-10 fertilization program at a rate of one pound per foot of tree height, you should see a noticeable difference in a short amount of time.
- I have azaleas and want to know if I should be feeding them anything else other than azalea fertilizer?

- Why is it important to feed my lawn and plants in late fall?
The last feeding in the fall is the most important feeding of the year. this feeding increases cold tolerance which helps yards and plants thru the winter months.
- My plants are on a monthly feeding schedule but I am going to be away for a couple of months. Can I double up on my fertilizer to make up for the months that I will be gone?
NO! Over fertilizing does more harm than not fertilizing at all. Minimal over fertilizing can cause burn and root damage. Extreme over fertilizing can cause the death of a once healthy plant.
- I fertilized my yard last week and this week I have noticed a bunch of spots all over my driveway and sidewalk. What is the cause of that?
Fertilizer contains iron, which when left on concrete causes staining after it has gotten wet. to keep this from happening again, sweep off all excess fertilizer from all concrete areas.
- Why should I be fertilizing my citrus trees out past the drip line of the tree?
We have found that the small feeder roots on the citrus tree extend beyond the drip line. In order for the tree to be properly feed, fertilizer needs to be available to these feeder roots.
